Holiday Style Checklist: 10 Must-Have Tips to Feel Confident, Comfortable, and Completely Yourself This Season

December 15, 20254 min read

The holidays come with a special kind of energy—joy, busy, beautiful, often overwhelming...

And full of moments that ask us to show up with presence. Between Christmas programs, family photos, office parties, church events, and the emotional weight of wrapping up another year, it's easy to feel like we have to "do it all," look perfect, and somehow balance everyone else's needs in the middle of it.

But here’s the truth I want you to hold close this season:

✨ You don’t have to do it all. You just have to be present.
✨ Your presence matters more than any outfit ever will.
✨ And when you feel aligned and comfortable in what you’re wearing, you get to show up fully — heart, mind, spirit, and confidence.

As a stylist, a believer, and a woman who walks right alongside you through the real, messy, meaningful parts of life… I created this Holiday Style Checklist to help you feel grounded, peaceful, and authentically you in every moment this season brings.

These are the 10 tips I return to year after year — the ones that help my clients look radiant, feel supported, and remember that confidence is spiritual before it’s stylish.

Let’s dive in.

1. Pick a Power Color

Choose one color that makes you feel alive — jewel tones, winter whites, soft metallics, berry reds. Build your outfit around it for instant confidence.

Your “power color” isn’t about impressing others…It’s about reminding you who you are.

2. Elevate a Basic with One Statement Piece

Swap studs for a bold earring. A classic knit for a satin or sequin top. A flat for a metallic heel.

One upgrade can transform your entire presence — effortlessly.

3. Comfort First, Always

Listen, if you can’t breathe, bend, or relax… it’s not the outfit.

Comfort is not compromise — it’s courage. It tells your body, “I’m safe. I’m grounded. I can show up as myself.”

4. Choose a Texture That Feels Festive

Velvet, satin, sequins, cable knit, faux leather — texture is holiday magic.

Use it intentionally to add depth and dimension, without adding stress.

5. Add Shine in One Strategic Spot

A bracelet, hair accessory, belt buckle, metallic shoe…

A tiny touch of shine lights up your whole look (and your face!) without overwhelming it.

6. Define You Waist

A soft front-tuck, a belted cardigan, a structured coat — shape creates polish instantly.

Especially in cozy layers, this little detail goes a long way.

7. Check Proportions Before Leavings the House

Oversized top → fitted bottom.
Statement skirt → simple top.
Structured pieces → soft pieces for balance.

Proportion is the secret sauce of effortless chic.

8. Keep Makeup + Hair Simple, Not Stressful

One bold lip. A soft wave. A bit of glow.

Done.

The holiday season is not the time for overthinking. Presence is what people will remember — not perfection.

9. Have One "Go-To" Outfit Pre-Styled

Avoid last-minute panic by preparing one complete look (shoes, layers, accessories) ahead of time.

This removes decision fatigue, frees your mind, and helps you stay grounded.

10. Ground Yourself Before You Go

This is my favorite tip — and the most important one.

Before the photos, before the gatherings, before the noise…

✨ Say a quick prayer.
✨ Take a deep breath.
✨ Ask God to fill you with His peace.

Confidence is spiritual before it’s stylish. When your heart is anchored, everything else falls into place.

A Final Word, From My Heart to Yours

If the holidays feel heavier this year…
If your body has changed…
If your confidence feels low…
If you’re struggling to find an outfit that feels like you

I want you to know this: You are not failing. You are not behind. You are not alone.

You are a woman becoming. You are growing, shifting, and stepping into a new season — even if you don't fully see it yet. The holidays don’t ask you to be perfect. Just present. Just available. Just yourself.
